My application is useful when run as a non-admin from the user¹s home
directory. I am counting on Sparkle to be able to update the app in that
instance, so if all that¹s required is a file permissions check, then sure,
do away with authentication. But in certain environments, especially ones
with a lot of computer management, authentication support might be a good
thing to have.
