[Sparkle] SSL Certificate error alert when appcast server not reachable

During a network outage, I noticed that the automatic at-launch
update reported this error:
The SSL certificate for "http://(my appcast server).com" was
rejected. <My App> does not currently support downloading with
invalid or self-signed certificates."
The SUFeedURL is http, not https.
I happening to be running an https server (yes, self-signed) at the
same address as the http server used for appcasts. Even when the
https port is blocked, when the http port is unreachable, I see the
error. Perhaps this certificate was cached on my Mac--if so this
might be moot--as customers are unlikely to ever connect to https
without being able to connect to http.
Is there anything I can/should do to make sure my customers never see
this error? I guess I'm looking for a "never try https" preference.
(The https server is only used privately).
Aside from that, Sparkle is stupendous!
