Andy,

 Can you make Check at Startup an option? I ship boxed software, and
occasionally dealers sell very old versions of the software since they had
the old boxes still in stock and they're eligible for the upgrade anyway. In
that case, I really want users to see that they got an old version, so they
can update immediately.

 If I don't do that, users would have a very bad out-of-the-box experience,
if they're running 10.5 and got a version of my software that doesn't run on
10.5 and crash.
