[Sparkle] Thinking about unifying Sparkle...

I love this idea and have wanted it for awhile.

In fact, Sparkle should be a generic installer as well, in other
words, apps can register what should be uninstalled.

Then, people can specify which apps they want Sparkled, which ones to
never Sparkle (like I know everything past 1.2 of APP X sucks) etc.

Also some apps, like shareware Snak, will stop working if you get a
version 2 years past the date you licensed it, without a new
license. If Sparkle could handle THAT it would rock. "There is a
new version of Snak available, but it requires a new license..."

Then all Sparkled Apps could register with this system. The system
could keep them up to date, ala Version Tracker, but instead of just
downloading the app, it would have the smarts listed above (a central
place to uinstall Sparkled apps, etc)

You should use your name as a branding for apps, too. "Does your app
Sparkle?" and then app developers could list "We Sparkle!" so users
would know they work with the system wide Sparkle Installation/
Uninstallation system

Apple has needed this for decades.

Steve
